The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended 20 suspects and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition following a raid on a criminal hideout in Taraba State.
According to a police statement, the operation was conducted on Wednesday at the Wamunchi dry-season rice farms, based on credible intelligence.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the raid on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, revealing that officers seized an AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of live ammunition, three Dane guns, a bow and arrow, and a motorcycle.
Confirming the arrests, a police spokesperson said, “The 20 male suspects are currently in custody and undergoing profiling. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries.”
Commending the officers for their swift action, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) reiterated the force’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the country.
The police urged the public to support security agencies by providing credible information that could aid in further operations against criminal activities in the state.
