Abuja – The Child Advocacy Committee of the Young Lawyers’ Forum (YLF) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has issued a strong call for systemic reforms to protect children as it wraps up its tenure with a high-level webinar.
Titled “Beyond Rescue: Protecting Children in Times of Insecurity – Strengthening Child Protection Laws and Policies in Nigeria,” the virtual event aims to shift the national conversation from reactive rescue operations to proactive, robust legal and policy frameworks that safeguard children’s rights to safety and dignity.
The webinar will bring together legal practitioners, policymakers, child rights advocates, and other stakeholders to critically examine gaps in existing laws and propose practical solutions amid escalating security challenges that continue to threaten children across the country.
Scheduled for Wednesday, 15 July 2026, at 2:00 p.m. West Central Africa Time, the session is expected to generate actionable recommendations for strengthening child protection mechanisms nationwide.
