Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has pledged unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, vowing that the president will secure three times the number of votes he garnered in the state during the 2023 polls.
Speaking on Thursday at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi during an event marking his administration’s second anniversary, Governor Idris highlighted the significant transformation Kebbi State has witnessed under Tinubu’s leadership.
“Before the Tinubu administration, Kebbi had little federal presence in terms of infrastructure and development. Today, that narrative has changed,” the governor stated.
He credited President Tinubu’s government with initiating numerous developmental projects across the state, emphasizing that the people of Kebbi now have every reason to support the president’s re-election.
“With the level of federal intervention and the ongoing projects across our state, Kebbi has no justification not to support Tinubu in 2027,” he declared. “We will triple the votes he received in 2023.”
The governor also pointed to the political unity within the state, noting the presence of both former and serving governors at the event as a testament to Kebbi’s strong support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“You rarely see a state where four past and present governors come together under one platform. This is clear evidence that Kebbi remains an APC stronghold,” he added.
