President Bola Tinubu has declared that his administration will not be intimidated by terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, or violent extremists, insisting that their actions will not define the identity of Nigerians.
In a statement posted on his verified X account (@officialABAT), the President affirmed: “Nigeria will not surrender to fear. We will not allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, or violent extremists to define who we are as a people. Their violence is not our identity. Their hatred does not represent Nigerians of any faith, creed, or community.”
Tinubu emphasized that the battle against insecurity is not the military’s responsibility alone, but a collective national duty. He urged citizens to actively support security agencies by sharing timely and credible intelligence. “When you see something, say something. When you know something, report it,” he said.
The President commended the bravery and dedication of Nigeria’s security forces, including the Armed Forces, Police, DSS, Civil Defence, intelligence services, and local security networks. He highlighted their sacrifices across forests, roads, creeks, and challenging terrains to protect lives and restore peace.
He specially acknowledged the families of personnel who endure long separations and emotional hardship, and paid tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the nation.
