President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the deployment of Nigerian troops to the Republic of Benin as part of a peace support mission following an attempted takeover of government in the neighbouring country. The authorities in Burkina Faso have announced that a Nigerian Air Force C130 transport aircraft carrying eleven soldiers was compelled to land in the country on Monday after it allegedly entered Burkinabe airspace without the required clearance. The Federal Government has moved to eliminate physical cash transactions in revenue collection, directing all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to switch fully to electronic payments.
