The Osun State House of Assembly has unanimously endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
During a plenary session on Tuesday, lawmakers passed a vote of confidence in the governor, commending his leadership and achievements. The motion was moved by Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Obokun State Constituency) and seconded by Hon. Taofiq Olayiwola (Ede South State Constituency).
All 26 members of the Assembly—25 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC)—threw their full support behind Governor Adeleke.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, praised Adeleke’s performance as he marked his 65th birthday, highlighting the administration’s strides in fulfilling its five-point agenda and driving development across the state.
“As representatives of the people, we are proud of the governor’s leadership,” the Speaker said. “We urge him to keep pushing for even greater achievements.”
Hon. Simeon Popoola (Boripe-Boluwaduro Constituency) also paid tribute to Adeleke, describing him as a “plain-minded, loving, and genuine leader” whose character has positively influenced his administration.
The vote of confidence was upheld by the chamber, marking a significant show of unity and support for the governor’s continued leadership.
