The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has officially rescheduled the 2026 NBA National Elections.
In a revised timetable released on July 3, 2026, the Committee moved the election date from its original Monday, July 20, 2026, to Saturday, July 18, 2026. Results of the election are now expected to be announced on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
The decision was taken following deliberations with candidates and concerns raised by critical stakeholders who requested the poll be moved to the weekend. This is to enable greater participation by the majority of eligible voters, consistent with the practice in previous NBA elections.
The ECNBA stated that the revised timetable, published pursuant to its powers under the NBA Constitution 2015 (as amended in 2025), supersedes all previous
versions to the extent of any inconsistency.
