Activist lawyer Maduabuchi Idam has criticized President Bola Tinubu for failing to take action against underperforming cabinet members, particularly Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu.
In a statement on Tuesday, Idam expressed concern over the persistent power crisis in Nigeria, questioning Tinubu’s continued retention of officials whose performance has drawn public disapproval.
“I’m bothered that President Tinubu is not concerned about the performance of his Minister of Power,” Idam stated. “What exactly is Mr. President’s attraction to cabinet members who are failing Nigerians?”
He lamented that instead of improving electricity supply, Tinubu’s administration has worsened the situation. “It’s either a national grid collapse or erratic power supply with no clear explanation,” he said.
Referencing Tinubu’s campaign promises to fix the power sector within months, Idam wondered whether Nigerians should still have hope in the administration or brace for disappointment.
“It’s either this administration is terrible, or its policies are. Something is fundamentally wrong,” he added.
