Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), held a consultative and reconciliation meeting on Saturday with the party’s candidates, leaders and stakeholders in Imo State.
Dickson described the session as “very fruitful” in a statement posted on his verified X account. The gathering was led by former Imo governor Chief Achike Udenwa, the party’s state leader. Participants agreed to collaborate in support of all NDC candidates across the board.
Dickson called on candidates and party leaders to act as agents of reconciliation. He thanked Udenwa for the leadership he is providing in the state and urged him to intensify those efforts with backing from the national leadership.
The NDC leader also indicated that a team of senior party officers would be sent to Imo State shortly to support ongoing reconciliation work.
He encouraged participants to build on the progress of this first meeting through further discussions aimed at achieving full unity among all stakeholders.
The meeting forms part of the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 elections.
