Former Governor of Imo State, Achike Udenwa, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is finally approaching the resolution of its prolonged leadership crisis.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Udenwa said the party now has the courage and determination to enforce its constitution and discipline erring members.
“I believe we are coming to the end of that struggle,” he said. “The end will be that if you don’t comply with what the party’s constitution says, then you will be disciplined. If it means showing you the way out, we will show you the way out.”
Udenwa stressed that no individual is above the party or its constitution, adding that the PDP is ready to implement its rules without fear or favoritism.
“We have enough courage to implement exactly what the constitution or the party says,” he added. “I’m confident that the disciplinary committee, led by former Senate President Bukola Saraki, will come up with something very soon, and those responsible for the internal issues will be adequately dealt with.”
He reiterated: “Nobody is above the party. No matter who he is, nobody is above the party.”
