President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has declared that petrol prices in Nigeria are relatively cheap compared to other countries in West Africa.
Speaking on Thursday during the launch of the reconstruction of the Deep Sea Port Access Road in Lagos State, Dangote also revealed that the road leading to the Dangote Refinery has been named in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He expressed relief over the improved fuel supply in the country, noting that most filling stations that were previously inactive are now back in operation.
“The majority of fuel stations that were not working are now back to work. There is no more shortage, no more queues — and there will never be again,” Dangote assured.
Addressing concerns about the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), he said, “Some people here in Nigeria might think petrol at less than N900 is expensive, but there is nowhere in West Africa where petrol is not selling above $1, which is around N1,600.”
Currently, petrol prices in Nigeria range from N800 to over N1,000 per litre, depending on the location.
