The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, is set to launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and the MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Abuja.
The launch, scheduled to take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, FCT, is part of ongoing efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing, improve communication and enhance operational efficiency.
The NPF Vigilant App is expected to provide a platform for stronger engagement, information sharing and communication between the Police and members of the public.
The MTN CUG Network, meanwhile, will provide a dedicated communication channel for police personnel, enabling faster and more seamless communication across the Force.
The initiative reflects the IGP’s drive to leverage modern technology and strategic partnerships to strengthen internal coordination, improve operational effectiveness and enhance service delivery.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to adopting innovation and technology to deliver more responsive, efficient and people-centred security services to Nigerians.
The launch is expected to further underscore the Force’s commitment to modernising policing and improving communication between its personnel and the public.
