Three children were discovered dead at the home of a suspected female native doctor in Ideani community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, authorities and community sources confirmed on Wednesday.
A fourth person found at the premises was alive and has been taken to hospital for medical examination. The bodies of the deceased children, said to be aged between six and 15, have been deposited in a mortuary.
Police have arrested the woman, whose identity has not been released, and are holding her at Ogidi Police Division. The Anambra State Police Command had not issued an official statement by the time of filing this report.
Community sources said the children may have been working at the residence, where the woman also reared livestock, or could be her biological children. The exact circumstances of the deaths remain unclear.
A video circulating on social media showed police officers at the scene and the suspect being led away by security operatives. Investigations are continuing.
