President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the green light for the continuation of the Kolmani oil drilling project, located between Bauchi and Gombe States.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Nneamaka Okafo.
According to the statement, President Tinubu also approved the issuance of all outstanding licenses required for the smooth progression of the project.
“The Federal Government has already established an oil and gas research center in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State to support the project’s sustainability and success,” the Minister said.
The Kolmani oil drilling project, which began in November 2022, marked a significant step in the exploration of crude oil in northern Nigeria.
