In a powerful note of encouragement and solidarity, Okey Ohagba, Esq., a distinguished past national officer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has joined the chorus of felicitations marking the ongoing 2025 Law Week of the NBA Abuja Branch (Unity Bar).
In a message titled “NBA Abuja Branch Law Week 2025 – A Note of Felicitation”, Ohagba expressed admiration for the leadership of Steve Emelieze, Esq., and the entire executive and planning committee for organizing the event.
“I am pleased to felicitate the Steve Emelieze led EXCO, the Planning Committee and the entire members of Nigerian Bar Association Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) on this momentous occasion of their Annual Law Week, 2025, themed; UNLOCKING OPPORTUNITIES: NEW FRONTIERS,” he wrote.
Ohagba described the theme as both “timely and apposite”, particularly in view of Nigeria’s evolving legal and technological landscape.
“Your chosen theme for this law week event is both timely and apposite, as we graple, as a nation, to catch up with the speed of innovative technology and globalization, particularly as it relates to the legal profession and the practice of law in Nigeria.”
He emphasized that this moment calls for a paradigm shift within the legal profession, urging lawyers to embrace technology-driven solutions to age-old challenges:
“This is the time to embrace innovation and explore tech-driven approaches to recurrent legal challenges.”
As participants gather to reflect and chart new directions for the profession, Ohagba offered his goodwill and optimism:
“As we gather to brainstorm and chart new frontiers of legal practice, here’s wishing all conferees greater exploits and a rewarding law week experience.”
The Unity Bar’s 2025 Law Week, with its futuristic theme and reformist momentum, continues to draw high praise from the Bar’s finest minds and promises to set the tone for the next era of legal practice in Nigeria.
