In a clear signal of expanding political outreach beyond Nigeria’s borders, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) and Governor of Imo State, is set to inaugurate the organisation’s Diaspora Youth Directorate coordinators in Toronto, Canada, next week.
The ceremony, scheduled for Monday, 10 August 2026, at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, will also mark the official launch of the RHA Diaspora Arise platform. It forms part of a deliberate strategy to mobilise young Nigerians living abroad in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and his expected re-election bid in 2027.
According to a statement by Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, Director of Youth of the RHA and Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, the inauguration underscores the growing global support for the administration’s policies. “The RHA Diaspora Youth platform comes as a strategic vehicle for mobilising young Nigerians across the world to contribute to nation-building, youth leadership, civic engagement and economic transformation,” Dr Abdullahi said.
He emphasised that the initiative affirms the critical role of Nigerians in the diaspora as stakeholders in the country’s development. “It also represents a strong affirmation that Nigerians in the diaspora remain critical stakeholders in the success of President Tinubu’s vision for a more prosperous and globally competitive nation.”
The Youth Directorate has designed the programme to equip newly inaugurated coordinators with practical tools for mobilisation. These include personalised recruitment codes, QR-enabled registration links, digital mobilisation toolkits and performance-monitoring dashboards. Each coordinator is expected to recruit no fewer than 50 verified members within the first 30 days of assuming office, a measurable target intended to drive rapid organisational growth.
Dr Abdullahi noted that the diaspora community has continued to distinguish itself in business, technology, medicine, academia and public service worldwide. The Toronto event, he said, signposts the RHA’s expanding reach and reflects a collective determination to build a global network dedicated to promoting good governance, youth empowerment, national unity and economic growth.
The mobilisation effort aligns with the President’s stated commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s human capital for sustainable development. “This initiative is therefore anchored on RHA’s belief that Nigeria’s greatest strength lies in the resilience, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of its people,” Dr Abdullahi added.
He reaffirmed the Youth Directorate’s commitment to excellence, integrity and inclusive leadership, stating that these values have continued to deepen youth participation in national affairs. “We thank Nigerian youths at home and in the diaspora for their unwavering support for the Tinubu administration and urge them to remain focused, united and to continue to work hard for Nigeria’s development aspirations in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope agenda for the benefit of all citizens.”
