The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the average retail price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) rose from N1,288.54 per litre in March to N1,532.93 in April 2026. In its April Petrol Price Watch report released in Abuja, the NBS stated that the new price represents an 18.97 per cent increase compared to March figures. On a year-on-year basis, petrol prices also climbed by 23.69 per cent from N1,239.33 recorded in April 2025.
