Natacha Akide, better known as Tacha, has been reported arrested by the Nigeria Police Force at her residence in Lagos. The arrest allegedly took place in the early hours of Sunday, 30 August 2026, after she failed to respond to repeated invitations from the police.
Media entrepreneur Seun Oloketuyi announced the development in an Instagram post. According to him, the National Cybercrime Centre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF-NCCC) had issued three invitations to Tacha between May and August 2026. She did not honour any of them.
Oloketuyi wrote: “Tacha has been arrested today by NPF. Arrested early this morning after she was sent three invitations btw May and August by NPF-NCCC but she decided not to honor the IVs.”
The precise reason for the invitations and the alleged arrest has not been disclosed. As of the time the report was published, the police had not issued any official confirmation of the detention or further details about the circumstances.
Tacha first gained widespread attention as a contestant on the reality television programme Big Brother Naija. She has since remained a visible figure in Nigerian entertainment and on social media.
