The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya, father of Ilebaye Odiniya, following allegations of physical assault.
The development came after a troubling video surfaced online showing the reality TV star in tears, pleading for help, and displaying visible facial injuries. In the footage, Ilebaye appeared desperate to leave the residence while being restrained, as a man was seen striking her from behind while another stood by without intervening.
According to a statement issued by police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, officers received a distress call around midnight on May 9, 2026, reporting an assault at Royal Anchor Estate in Wuye, Abuja.
Police operatives from the Wuye Division and the Department of Operations were dispatched immediately, but were reportedly denied access to the estate for more than two hours. Entry was eventually secured around 2:30 a.m.
Upon gaining access, officers rescued Ilebaye and her brothers from the residence. She was found with visible bruises and was taken to the NNPC Hospital for medical treatment.
The police confirmed that Emmanuel Odiniya is currently in custody while investigations continue into the incident.
