The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo at the age of 40.
The sad news was confirmed on Tuesday by several of his colleagues and close associates, who paid emotional tributes to the late actor across social media platforms.
Actress Funke Akindele, reacting via her Instagram story, expressed grief over his passing, recalling their friendship and cherished memories together.
Actor Bolanle Ninalowo also mourned Ekubo’s death, praying for strength and healing for the late actor’s family and the entertainment industry.
Similarly, Godwin Nnadiekwe described the development as heartbreaking, saying he was struggling to process the loss of his friend and colleague.
At the time of reporting, the family of the deceased actor had not released an official statement concerning the cause of death.
