The Edo State Police Command has rescued the remaining six passengers abducted during an attack on a commercial bus operated by Young Shall Grow Motors along the Benin–Lagos Road.
The bus, carrying 13 passengers from Akwa Ibom State to Lagos, was ambushed by armed kidnappers. Earlier, five victims — two adults and three children — had been rescued, while a female passenger sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed that the remaining six kidnapped passengers were rescued unhurt.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, praised the bravery and determination of the security operatives involved in the rescue mission. He also assured residents that the command remains committed to tackling crime, adding that intensive bush-combing operations are ongoing to track down and arrest the kidnappers.
