The Labour Party (LP) Secretariat in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, was attacked on Monday morning by a group of suspected armed thugs.
Reports indicate that the attackers, numbering over 300, stormed the premises around 10 a.m., breaking into the building and vandalizing offices. During the raid, they reportedly made off with valuable party documents, electronics, and a substantial amount of cash, believed to be in the millions of naira.
An eyewitness, who is also a staff member at the secretariat, stated that the assailants’ aggressive actions caused panic, forcing both staff and bystanders to flee for safety. The police arrived shortly after the attackers had dispersed, though no arrests were made at the scene.
While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident and launched a full investigation. Authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
