Former Abia State Deputy Governor and Senator representing Abia South, Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election.
Abaribe made this assertion during an appearance on PoliticsToday with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels TV, where the conversation turned to Tinubu’s electoral history and future political prospects.
When the programme host suggested that Tinubu has never lost an election, Abaribe disagreed, stating that no politician is immune to defeat. He insisted that elections are unpredictable and that everyone eventually faces loss.
Pressed further on whether he truly believes Tinubu will be defeated in 2027, Abaribe responded confidently that the President will lose. According to him, the mood of Nigerians across the country signals a growing dissatisfaction that cannot be ignored.
Abaribe argued that the 2023 presidential election was controversial and claimed that many Nigerians do not believe Tinubu genuinely won. He noted however that despite these concerns, Tinubu was declared winner and accepted as President.
Looking ahead, Abaribe said the situation will be different in 2027. He stressed that Nigerians will be more prepared and vigilant, making it impossible for any alleged last minute surprises or announcements to determine the outcome.
He added that if an election were conducted today, the result would reflect the true feelings of the masses, who he believes are now more politically conscious and determined to defend their votes.
