Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Campaign Council and directed it to extend party operations to every ward, polling unit and community ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Monday at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre in Owerri, Uzodimma said the council’s primary task is to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in the presidential, National Assembly and State Assembly polls.
He described the APC as a formidable political brand focused on socio-economic transformation and urged members to treat their appointments as national service. The governor stressed the need for discipline, strategic unity and direct engagement with voters beyond urban centres.
“Our Campaign Council must establish an active presence at the local government, ward, and polling-unit levels. Candidates across all levels from the National Assembly to the State House of Assembly must operate as a unified team to communicate our Party’s transformative achievements,” Uzodimma said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party’s structures in Imo to support the president’s national development agenda and deliver a complete electoral win for the APC in 2027.
APC National Vice Chairman (South East) Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu said the council’s mandate is clear: to win the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.
State APC Chairman Chief Austin Onyedebelu directed members to begin immediate door-to-door outreach across the 27 local government areas.
Responding on behalf of the new council, Chief Chris Okewulonu assured party leaders that the body is ready to execute its assignment without delay or compromise.
