A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has described Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, as a “congenital liar” who taught the party a valuable lesson.
Speaking on Tuesday during a radio interview with Jimi Disu on Nigeria Info FM, George criticized Jandor for his conduct during the 2023 Lagos governorship election.
Jandor, who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP before the election and secured the party’s governorship ticket, recently announced his return to the APC. His defection came just four days after meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
Reflecting on Jandor’s time in the PDP, George recalled that he had initially agreed to select Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as his running mate but later went back on his word.
“He is a congenital liar. We stumbled into him through an older, respectable leader who introduced him to us,” George said.
According to him, Rhodes-Vivour had been a strong contender for the PDP ticket, but party elders opted for Jandor out of respect for the senior figure who vouched for him.
“Gbadebo was at the forefront, but when this elder introduced Jandor, we had to consider our cultural values,” George explained.
He also recounted a conversation about their ages, where Jandor claimed to be 45 while Rhodes-Vivour was 39. “I told them, ‘We can work something out,’ but in the end, he reneged on his promise,” George added.
