The announcement, detailed in a circular issued by Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho, KSS, OFR, FCIArb (UK), Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, invites nominations for judicial candidates from specified states: Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Enugu, Imo, Kaduna, Plateau, and Taraba.
The initiative, outlined in a letter dated May 13, 2025, with reference number NJC/FHC/F.3/V/669, aligns with the National Judicial Council’s Guidelines and Procedural Rules for the appointment of judicial officers to superior courts. The call for nominations was addressed to key stakeholders, including the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justices of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, and Chief Judges and Presidents of Customary and Sharia Courts of Appeal across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Stakeholders are urged to nominate suitably qualified candidates for these prestigious positions, with recommendations due to the Chief Judge’s Chambers by June 26, 2025.
