The Heartland Bar [NBA Owerri] is set to blaze a trail as the Nigerian Bar Association, Owerri Branch, officially unveils its 2025 Law Week, holding from May 19 to May 25, 2025.
With the theme: “Reshaping Legal Practice and Justice Delivery: Charting the Future of the Profession,” the event promises a high-impact convergence of legal minds, policy influencers, and human rights advocates.
Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, a globally respected Human Rights Activist, will deliver the keynote address at the Opening Ceremony on May 21, 2025, at Villa Gardens Hotel, New Owerri, under the distinguished Chairmanship of Hon. Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme, PhD, of the Supreme Court.
Joining him are other renowned legal titans, including J.S. Okutepa, SAN, Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri, and Dele Farotimi, who will serve as speakers and resource persons during the week-long intellectual feast.
The program kicks off on May 19 with a prison visitation, followed by a health walk on May 20, before the main conference activities commence. The grand finale, a Law Dinner, will be held on May 23, chaired by Hon. Justice B. A. Njemanze (Rtd.).
Curated by the Law Week Planning Committee led by S. C. Imo, SAN, and with the support of the Branch Chairman, Chief Chris Ihentuge, Esq., the event is designed to inspire, engage, and reposition legal professionals for the evolving demands of justice delivery in Nigeria.
