Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralized a suspected bandit and an armed robber in separate operations in Wase and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Jos, OPSH Media Officer, Major Samson Zhakom, confirmed that the troops conducted clearance operations in the two locations on March 24, leading to the elimination of the suspects.
“The suspected bandit was neutralized during an intense clearance operation at Kampani Zurak in Wase LGA. He was identified as a member of a notorious syndicate operating in Wase and parts of Taraba State before he was taken down,” Zhakom stated.
He further disclosed that on the same day, troops responded to a distress call about an armed robbery attack along the Bokkos–Richa road.
“Troops swiftly mobilized to the scene, engaged the criminals, and overpowered them with superior firepower. One armed robber was neutralized, while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds,” he added.
An AK-47 rifle was recovered from the scene, and security forces have launched a follow-up operation to track down the fleeing gang members.
