No fewer than 15 generals of the Nigerian Army from the Artillery Corps have bowed out of service. According to reports, the Artillery Corps delivers heavy firepower support to allied forces positioned at the front lines on the battlefield. Former governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, and his former Commissioner of Finance, Ademola Banu, were on Monday re-arraigned on fresh 14 charges of alleged N5.78billion fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed 14 new charges against the duo before the Kwara State High Court, presided over by Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar. A 17-year-old domestic help, identified as Silas Daniel, has been remanded for defiling the five-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter of his employer in Lagos State. It was learnt that the culprit was remanded at the Special Correctional Center, Adigbe, Abeokuta, since he is a minor. Petroleum marketers have resumed importing petrol to supplement the country’s fuel supply, following the inability of the Dangote Refinery to meet demand. Four vessels carrying 123.4 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) arrived at Nigerian seaports between Friday, October 18, and Sunday, October 20. According to reports, the failure of the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery to meet its promised production target raised concerns about fuel scarcity.
